ADEPT Annual Dinner

The ADEPT Annual Dinner will be held at the prestigious One Whitehall Place (www.onewhitehallplace.com) on Thursday 28th January 2016.  The cost is £75 inclusive of VAT and the dress code for gentlemen is black tie.

ADEPT President Heather Barnes wishes to acknowledge the work of ADEPT members across the country at the event.  She will make Special Recognition Awards against the strategic priorities set out in ADEPT Vision to 2020, Real Change in Places We Live and Work:

  • Meaningful devolution for all communities across the UK
  • Powers to plan and grow successful communities
  • Long term funding to prevent, prepare and respond

To enter your project please submit a tweet length summary and 500 words outlining your project and its impact by 12th December to Camilla De Bernhardt, ADEPT Policy Officer, at [email protected].

The after dinner speaker is Quentin Letts, known for the sting of his parliamentary sketches for The Daily Mail.  In characteristically acerbic style, he described one Labour Cabinet Minister as a grisly dissembler with a fox's sneer, and a one-man galvaniser of moral outrage.

With a beady eye on the political elite, Quentin takes after dinner audiences behind the Speaker’s chair.  He explains the geography of the Commons, exposes many of its arcane practices and reveals some of the tricks of the reporter’s trade.

Not one to be restricted to political commentary, Quentin also turns his pen to theatre reviews and travel pieces. He once unfavourably compared Jerry Hall’s acting to that of a toothpick, with a range of emotions that would not discredit a retiring clam.
