ADEPT / Natural England webinar: Planning for nature & climate resilience
Overview:
Planning for nature and climate resilience involves integrating ecological principles into urban and rural development to enhance communities' ability to withstand climate change impacts. By incorporating green infrastructure - such as rain gardens, permeable pavements and urban forests – into cities and towns can improve water management, reduce heat islands, enhance biodiversity and support health and wellbeing. Additionally, engaging local communities in the planning process ensures that diverse perspectives and knowledge contribute to sustainable solutions. Ultimately, a resilient approach not only mitigates climate risks but also fosters social cohesion, economic stability and long-term environmental health.
