The role of the Flood and Water Management Group is to act as a centre of excellence, giving advice and support on a range of matters including:
- surface water management
- raising awareness of flood risk and the role of LLFAs
- working with Government to secure funding for flood risk management
- promoting effective flood water management practice
The group works with a wide range of key stakeholders to develop policies and to find innovative ways to resolve flood and water management issues. It has been instrumental in raising the national profile of surface water management.
